Student Interns and Volunteers<\/h3>\n

Every year,\u00a0the ant\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>gets many requests and also hosts a number of students and young professionals for varying amounts of time.\u00a0 Depending on the skills, interest, experience of the volunteer, the intern, and the need of the organisation at that point of time, we design a learning programme for that person, which is mutually beneficial both for the intern and also for the organisation.<\/p>\n

The student interns and volunteers take part in the various field programmes of\u00a0the ant<\/em>\u00a0as well as help us in carrying out studies and research. With our varied and multi-level activities and programmes, generally we are able to match the interests of the volunteers with that of the organization.<\/p>\n

I learnt a lot about Child Rights in India and I have considerably increased my knowledge about various schemes, policies, laws, amendments that have had an important impact on Child Rights in India. One particular thing I appreciate about the organization is that they encourage us to think critically and hold an opinion. I am very grateful to have had this opportunity. Due to the ongoing COVID situation, this internship was work from home but the organization made sure we had a wonderful experience nevertheless and I can say that we made best use of our circumstances.\"<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"\"Internship with IDeA during COVID-19 lockdown was fullfiling in itself. Though it was work from home but learning was not compromised. Apart from learning official work it helped me to develop an active and adaptable mind. Moreover I learned to hold a positive outlook when it comes to work because I learned 'Enjoy your work' philosophy. I consider myself, one of the lucky intern who got an opportunity to attend Charcha cafe event. The event was refreshing. This internship added to my happiness.

I am glad to have had the opportunity of working with the supervisors like Pragati di and Abhijit Sir, in whom I found colleagues who always heard each of us out and made it a point to give space for our individual growth. They made this fieldwork fun with leanings and critically analyzing something I would definitely take up in the future. \"\"\"I was placed at IDeA for a month and half and my experience was absolutely commendable. For the first time in my life, I felt like a social worker while interning with IDeA, The ant. The officials at IDeA helped me become a better person today and I am able to critically analyse situation better than I was before. This wasn\u2019t a desk internship for me where I\u2019d do data entry. Instead, it was an internship where I was travelling all around Assam and collecting data for a research study through FGDs and in-depth interviews I visited 5 different partner NGOs across various districts in Assam and did an evaluation and monitoring study of the existing MITA (Mental Illness Treatment in Assam) Project. This internship gave me an insight into being culturally sensitive and professionally adaptive to different customs and traditions\"<\/em><\/p>\n

\"The entire field experience has been extremely helpful in deepening my understanding of livelihood issues at the grassroots and the day to day difficulties encountered by the handloom industry. One of my most cherished experiences on the field however is of the love and hospitality that I received from the organisation and especially from the weavers in the villages. Despite having access to limited resources, I was welcomed and made to feel at home for the duration of my stay with them. Working with the entire team for these six weeks and interacting with these tough women has left me inspired and a humble person.\"<\/em><\/p>\n
